Stamp Camp USA additionally relies on many community and regional volunteers who support the
program's goals and mission year round. Among them are:
Linda L. Cox
Linda L. Cox has been a part of Stamp Camp USA since the programs beginning. Serving as a
community volunteer, Linda first became directly involved in an advisory capacity, helping to
appropriately structure the organization's materials and program donations.
Linda was part of the international stamp show, Washington 2006. She was on the instructional
committee for Stamp Camp USA. Linda became directly involved with children during the Kid's
Camps that were a part of the major philatelic event. Now assisting campers across the country
with three-dimensional creative and traditional stamp exhibiting, Linda's growing experience and
stamp camp program knowledge has led her to becoming one of the key community leaders and
champions for Stamp Camp USA.
In November 2007, after extending several thousand volunteer hours devoted to Stamp Camp
USA behind-the-scenes administration and Kid's Camp instruction, Linda became the first
community volunteer to receive Stamp Camp USA's premier Community Volunteer of the Year
award, presented by the Stamp Camp USA board of directors and CEO.
Becky Squier
Becky Squier began her postal career in 1974 as a part-time flexible clerk and since then has
held various postal positions, including City Carrier and Officer-In-Charge for numerous postal
facilities. In 1983, she was appointed postmaster at Montandon, Pennsylvania, were she has
enjoyed serving her customers and community for the past 22 years. Postmaster Squier has
been involved with children’s programs for many years, including serving as the Zip Code 178
Area Stamp Club Coordinator. She has sponsored two local stamp clubs and has been an active
philatelist with the Stamp Camp USA Program since its inception.
Pamela Williams
Pam has been a part of Stamp Camp USA's community volunteer’s roster for the past several
years. Serving as a Kid's Camp instructor and program facilitator, Pam has devoted many
volunteer hours to helping spread the joys of stamp collecting to kids across Pennsylvania. Pam
conducted the first stamp camp program activities in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and
continues to assist at various camps as they are scheduled across the state. As postmaster of
Newville, Pennsylvania, Pam continues to work on behalf of Stamp Camp USA, where she is
presently part of the 2008 Pennsylvania National Association of Postmasters State Convention
Stamp Camp USA Committee.
Joe and Janet Contento
Mr. and Mrs. Contento became active as community volunteers for Stamp Camp USA in 2007
when first asked to assist with a youth design pictorial postmark contest sponsored by Stamp
Camp USA. Upon learning about the many ways, volunteers can assist with Stamp Camp USA
programs and activities, this couple soon became supportive volunteers who help with
administrative operations at the National Headquarters office, as well as assisting with materials
and donations management projects. Joe, a collector and member of the Elmira New York
Stamp Club, has served as a guest judge for Kid's Camps, while Janet has served as an
assistant Kid's Camp instructor. Presently, both are assisting with administrative and donations
management operations at Stamp Camp USA headquarters.
Denise L. Stotts
Denise has been collecting stamps since childhood and being married to a fellow collector, Jay
Stotts, has continued the hobby throughout her life. She has been involved with organized
philately for over 25 years, having served in various offices for several stamp clubs, as show
chairperson for over 12 years in Houston, Texas, and as secretary for the Ohio Postal History
Society. She is a director-at-large for the American Philatelic Society and a director of the
American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors, the United States Stamp Society, the Texas
Philatelic Association, and Women Exhibitors. A gold medal-winning exhibitor herself, having
won for her thematic exhibit on Japanese Art and several other one frame exhibits, Denise has
volunteered to serve Stamp Camp USA as a philatelic adult leader instructor, Kid's Camp
instructor, and exhibit mentor. Along with community volunteer Linda Cox and Stamp Camp
USA CEO Cheryl Edgcomb, Denise has attended a weeklong training conference at the Cayman
Islands, as part of Stamp Camp USA's philatelic international outreach efforts.
Carl E. Cox
Carl came to us in January of 2009. He started out sorting and filling activity pages. Then he
began assembling activity packets. Before long, he was handling the incoming mail each day,
logging the donations, and sending out the acknowledgments. Carl was Superintendent of
Public Works for a local government agency for 11½ years before purchasing his own business
in 2004. He has a lot of experience with coordinating work projects to get the most production
from the least amount of time. At our annual appreciation luncheon in the fall of 2009, Carl was
announced Stamp Camp USA’s Community Volunteer of the Year.
