Stamp Camp USA | Request A Camp
Where kids learn through stamps!

Is your community considering hosting a Stamp Camp? If so, congratulations! Here are some details to get you started.

First, notify Stamp Camp USA headquarters of your interest by sending an email here: stampcampusa1@verizon.net including your city and state; potential dates; whether you would like a kid's camp, adult leadership camp, or both; and an estimated number of camp attendees. Qualified Stamp Camp leaders are scattered across the US and Canada. Headquarters will contact one closest to you for his or her availability to teach the camp and get back with you to confirm your request.

Costs

The goal of every camp or appearance is to cover all related expenses involved in Stamp Camp USA's participation. All leaders and attending staff are volunteers, but are to be compensated for travel, food and lodging related expenses. Donations of stamps and philatelic material, awards and prizes, as well as most craft items are used whenever possible to defray costs. However training materials and certain non-donated camp supplies do add to the bottom line.

Typically Stamp Camp charges a set fee per participant to cover the majority if not all of these costs. A general guideline is $25 per youth and $65 per leader. Of course every camp is unique in its situation, but this is a good starting point.

The organization or group hosting Stamp Camp may ask each participant for this fee or find a local sponsor to fund part or all of the anticipated costs. In some cases hosts can apply for grants in their area in support of the educational and youth involvement aspects of Stamp Camp.

Headquarters staff is also available to run youth and leader camps overseas. The Postal Service of the Cayman Islands organized several camps in April of 2008 with full funding supported by major corporations in the country. As a result, the Stamp Camp concept continues to flourish and expand there to this day.

We encourage anyone interested in hosting a Stamp Camp to contact Executive Director Laurie Kring at headquarters by email using her email address above or below for more information and ask any questions you may have or write to the address below.
