




| Stamp Camp USA | Board Members Chairman of the Board David L. Straight David L. Straight is the director of West Campus Library at Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri. He earned a Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Missouri, and has taught university library courses and served as a moving and shelving consultant to other libraries. David is active in Habitat for Humanity, the local food pantry, and COPE. David has two children and he and his wife Carol, both enjoy philatelic pursuits. A published author of over 200 articles in a variety of philatelic magazines, David is presently a trustee of the American Philatelic Research Library and on the Board of Vice Presidents for the American Philatelic Society. Vice Chair and Secretary of the Board Teressa M. Sasserson Teressa M. Sasserson is the director of Childhood Development Center in Westfield, Pennsylvania, and graduated SUMMA CUM LAUDE, 2000 from Quincy College. She has an Associates of Science in Early Childhood Education. Teressa has experience as a licensed respiratory therapist, and has served as a teacher for Growth Unlimited Preschool in Kingston, Massachusetts. Teressa resides in Westfield, Pennsylvania with her husband Jeffrey and daughter Cortny. Along with her Stamp Camp USA responsibilities, Teressa presently serves on the Northern Tioga School District Board of Directors, as well as on the Chapter 4 Strategic Planning Committee for the District. Board Treasurer Philip D. Koos II Philip D. Koos serves as an international business and geography course and management course instructor for Lackawanna College and he presently works as a consultant for Gambal Printing and Design in Towanda, Pennsylvania. Phil has a background in community and economic development and has served as a director on numerous planning commissions, as well as specific project expansions. Phil also lends his expertise to the Guidestone Annuity Board. Phil and his wife, Pat, reside in Towanda, Pennsylvania, where they have raised two children. Ex Office Board Member Cindy L. Racket Cindy L. Racket brings a stamp consultation connection to Stamp Camp USA from the United States Postal Service. Having a Bachelors Degree in Management, Cindy was appointed as stamp exhibitions and products manager for postal headquarters in Washington, DC, and is responsible for USPS philatelic marketing and revenue initiatives. She manages the coordination of all stamp shows and exhibitions and most recently served as retail integration/products acting manager, leading a team that increased philatelic revenue from $19 million to $40 million. A 31- year postal career manager, Cindy spends her free time enjoying her family and active in Jaycee Women, Boy Scouts of America, and Little League. Board Member Gary W. March Gary W. March has an Associate’s Degree in drafting and engineering design technology. He is a business manager that presently owns and operates Linux Plaza in Linux, Pennsylvania, Clifford Beverage, Inc., in Clifford, Pennsylvania, and serves as vice president of operations for HTS Handtruck Systems. A two-term County Commissioner of Susquehanna County, Gary served on numerous planning and development commissions, as well as local community service boards, including Scouting, Lions, Maxis Health System, Area P Special Olympics, and Clifford Volunteer Fire Company. Presently, Gary serves on the board of TREHAB as well as the Carbondale YMCA Capitol Fund Program. Gary and his wife, Mary Ann, have two daughters and reside in South Gibson, Pennsylvania. Board Member Dr. Donna L. Mettler Dr. Mettler is currently a regional coordinator of the Pennsylvania Inspired Leadership Program, a statewide leadership development program for school principals, district directors, and superintendents. Her career in public education spans 36 years: 14 years as a special education teacher and reading specialist, 14 years as an elementary school principal, 6 years as superintendent of the Wellsboro Area School District, and 2 years in her current position with the Pennsylvania Department of Education. She is also president of her own educational consulting business, DLM Educational Consultants, Inc. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in elementary and special education from Lock Haven University in 1970, a Master of Education Degree in reading from Shippensburg University in 1985, and a Doctor of Education Degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 1999. She also holds certifications for reading specialist, elementary and middle school principal, special education supervisor, and superintendent of schools. Residing in Middlebury Center, Pennsylvania, Dr. Mettler enjoys traveling with her husband, Kenneth, spending time with her family, and reading all types of books and literature. Board Member Karol Allison Wickens Allison brings to Stamp Camp USA her expertise as an education program specialist, where she serves as director of education for the National Postal Museum of the Smithsonian, in Washington, DC. Allison has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, and a Masters of Arts Degree from the University of Colorado, in Boulder, Colorado. She served as a schools and tours coordinator for the National Postal Museum in 2000, and from 2001- 2003, served as exhibits and researcher/education assistant for the Boulder History Museum. In July 2003, she joined the National Postal Museum team as special projects manager for the education department, and in August 2006 to the present time, Allison serves as the director of education for the National Postal Museum. Allison directly oversees philatelic educational programs and curriculums for the museum and manages a staff of four employees. |
